Long Beach Police Department Commander Michael Beckman will introduce the new East Division Commander, Paul LeBaron, to the Belmont Shore Residents Association Thursday, Dec. 13, at their monthly meeting.
Commander LeBaron has recently been promoted and has assumed command of the East Division, the largest patrol area in the LBPD, as of December 1. Commander Beckman is now in command of the Field Support Division, which encompasses twelve separate areas, including special events, the DUI Team, and the SWAT team, among others.
Following the introduction of Commander LeBaron, LBPD Officer Claudia Lopez will speak about the Community Watch program, a crime prevention program that involves individual groups working with the police to affect crime. This is an opportunity for Shore residents to become informed about ways to get involved to help prevent crimes in the neighborhood.
All residents of Belmont Shore are invited to attend the BSRA's monthly meetings held the second Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at the Bay Shore Library, 195 Bay Shore Avenue. The BSRA represents homeowners and renters in the Belmont Shore area, and invites new members.
