Seal Pup Makes His Debut at Aquarium of the Pacific

Five things you need to know about Belmont Shore-Naples today.

1.      Cal State Long Beach had a scare Tuesday with a report of an armed man on campus. The report later turned out to be false. Coincidently, the campus had an active-shooter drill earlier in the day.

2.      Los Angeles County Supervisors approved a $10,000 reward Tuesday for information leading to the arrest of the suspect wanted in the stabbing death of a Cambodian immigrant. Leam Sovanasy was killed in her home in 2009. Supervisor Don Knab, who recommended the reward, hopes that the reward would incentivize those with information to come forward.

3.      Long Beach City College rededicated the Student Service Center Monday. The retrofitted building is more energy efficient and has a rose garden in the courtyard.

4.      The Aquarium of the Pacific, 100 Aquarium Way, will debut its first male harbor seal pup born at aquarium Wednesday. The pup, named Toby, will go on public display starting at 9 a.m.
