5 Things: Naples Fest, Community Budget and Parrots

Five things you need to know about Belmont Shore-Naples today.

1.      Councilman James Johnson will host a community budget meeting to discuss which capital projects will be invested in using $881.6 million from the city's budget 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Vista Del Mar, 3360 Magnolia Ave.

2.      The Naples Fest – Street Fair 2013 is happening from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday on Second Street of Naples Island. Activates will include food tasting, face painting, balloon making, flower potting and sidewalk sale. 

3.      Belmont Shore residents do really love their birds. Residents say the feral parrots that have taken roots in beach community add characters. The Orange County Register reported that the bird population is growing, from five birds in 1987 to an estimated 200 birds today.
